Madrona is a plant with shiny dark green leaves with a pale green color underneath. The bark were used to brew tea. Madrona's are found in wooded areas but they can also be found in canyons. The Patwins would eat the berries fresh or cooked. The early settlers used it's chareoal to make gunpowder. The bark where used to cure stomaches aches. The bark and leaves can be used to cure sore throats and common colds. Madrona trees can grow to from 30 to
75 feet tall. The Native Americans used the berries to make manufacture of cider and in decorative purposes.
